About Foster Can, Inc.
Foster Can, Inc. was founded in 2020 by Carrie Relf, a former youth in foster care that has dedicated her career to helping youth a families achieve positive outcomes despite their current circumstances for the past 15 years. Carrie knows first hand the challenges that come with transitioning our of care with minimal support and wants to assure that this generation is better positioned for life after foster care.
Foster Can Inc. is an organization committed to helping youth and young adults in foster care, foster care alumni, and disadvantaged communities overcome barriers to social, educational, and vocational success. At Foster Can, Inc. We believe that "can" beats "can't" every time. We aim to reduce stigma associated with the foster care experience and support individuals in their transition. With the right support, there is nothing out of reach.
The communities we serve include the 8 counties of the Capital Region: Albany, Columbia, Greene, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Warren and Washington. We hope to expand to additional counties throughout New York State.

We believe all children, youth, and young adults in foster care can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.
Our Mission
Our mission is to bridge current youth in foster care and alumni in transition to resources to help them overcome social, academic, vocational, and housing barriers through coaching, mentorship, and charity.

Our Vision
We envision a time where the academic, career, and housing statistics of current youth in care and alumni tell a story of success and resilience.
